2024 Bourbon County Brand Macaroon Stout is an imperial stout aged for a full year in bourbon barrels before adding rich cocoa nibs, sweet candied ginger and toasted coconut. This decadent stout is an homage to the flavors of homemade coconut macaroons with a twist of nostalgia.

Poured from a 2024 vintage, 500 ml bottle.
Aroma is malt forward with lots of chocolate and roast notes along with some dark caramel, toffee and burnt sugar. Moderate notes of cacao nibs and coconut with hints of ginger. Medium light bourbon and alcohol notes.
Pours jet black with a small, thick, mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. No lacing and long legs.
Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of chocolate and dark caramel notes along with some lighter roast and toffee. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Moderate cacao nib notes with light coconut and faint ginger. Medium light bourbon and light oak notes.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a decent barrel aged stout with nice malt notes. The bourbon character is nice. The coconut is a bit oily, but the flavor is nice and not like sun tan lotion. The cacao compliments the malt notes. The ginger is light and well balanced.
Very well balanced coconut, vanilla and oak. Couldn't really find the ginger.

Bottle @ Bad Seed Beer Fest, 2025. Pours Black with bubbles on top. Really sweet with a lot of spices and stuff we really dont need in here. Almost ruined. Stop messing about. This almost perfect base beer struggles here.

Bottle at Juova.
Poured pitch black in color, thin off white head.
Bourbon nose is lovely. Flavor has coconut, some roasted malts. Round mouthfeel. Warming, some heat from the ABV.
Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, coconut, vanilla fudge, roasted, hint of spicy ginger, taste is vanilla, chewy, coconut, chocolate, oak, warming ginger. 8/9/9/8/8.5

500 ml bottle. Thanks Brian and TJ on the share. Aroma is a huge amount of ginger, and maybe trace coconut. The ginger is so strong that it nearly drowns out the bourbon. Almost hard to find the barrel. Real huge disappointment.
