0.44 l can from 'Hetbiermoment.nl', best before June 2026. Hazy, reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, some strawberry and traces of wet leaves. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, slightly dry, moderately fruity taste of grains, straw, nuts, caramel, wet leaves and raisins, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Alt, very well-brewed.

Sampled @ Van Moll Fest 2025. Rusty reddish color, white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, awesome leaves bitterness. Sounds so weird but it tastes great. Tea-ish bitter also. Superbly balanced. Very good. 8-8-9-9-9

Pours deep amber with a lasting white head. Aroma: phenols, roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Taste: caramelly malts and toffee. Intense malty palate.

Draft sample @ Barcelona Beer Festival ’25.
Couleur pâle oscillant sur l’ambre, col épais crémeux bien tenace blanc-cassé.
Arôme est bien plaisant sur les malts – dont un parfum agréable de Vienna qui confère ce côté un peu biscuité, et un léger grillé en retrait. Le tout sur un support houblonné noble.
Palais est finement malté, pâle et pils avec une pointe de grillé voire de malt Vienna/Munich, frais houblonné vert apportant une touche florale – jasmin, tout en restant sur le noble.
Bready et biscuité en fin de bouche, amertume poussiéreuse au fini.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. A well-constructed and rich Alt with the right amount of roasted malt and a solid bitterness. Picking up a little noble hop, I could have a few of these.

Can. Color: Slightly hazy amber, off-white head. Aroma: Caramel malt, some citrus hop. Taste: Again caramel malt and floral / citrus hop. Light hints of liquorice. More hoppy and more citrus fruit than I remember from the original German versions. Ok overall.

Pours a clear deep amber body and a firm, rocky light beige head with good retention. Aroma's: dark malt, a bit red fruit, rye bread. More red fruit retronasal with some sweetness, peardrops. Flavour is light moderate bitter, toasted bread, light sweet. Light bodied. Finishes with increasing bitterness, almost ashy. Good interpretation of the style (I think - it's been a long time that I had Alt).
