Very dark brown colour with thin head. Dark malt. Coffee. Lots of liquorice. Quite a sweet and spicy one. I don't get chilli.

Bottle. Black with bready light brown head. Roasted malts, indeed some ginger, allspice, a touch of smoke, licorice, nutmeg, a hint of chili. Solid medium sweet, medium bitter. Creamy and oily body with a touch of heat. This is less spices than the special big bottle from a while ago, nice stuff!

0.33 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', best before November 2026. Very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and quite herbal-spicy aroma of chocolate, chili, ginger and licorice root. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, slightly herbal-spicy taste of chocolate, caramel, chili, ginger, cinnamon and some licorice root, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly peppery finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting take on a Christmas beer, fortunately not too spicy, very well-executed.
