This beautiful straw colored ale has a light malty body, balanced with pine and grapefruit hop character from early additions of Cascade and Chinook. Late loads of dank Summit and Citra in the whirlpool provide an aromatic and deliciously quenching finish to this East meets West Coast IPA.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy amber, small head. Aroma of lychee and grapefruit. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Crystal hidden in a relatively thick blanket of citric hops. Salty bitter finoish.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on spring forward Sunday while making dinner, one of those great unexpected early March 60 degree days. Appearance is a cloudy, dark gold/ruby with a rich white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is nice and hoppy, equal parts citrus and pine hops, smells dry hopped for sure. Taste is pretty good, not really much malt thrown in, hops dominate but it’s not crazy bitter, goes down slightly smooth with mostly citrus notes, but it’s not like I’m drinking hop residue. I’m pretty happy to have tried this, wasn’t happy with my last Cisco brew and think this one’s the bees knees.

RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting @ the Harlequin. Hazy orange color with a huge white head.Strong citric hop aroma. Very bitter taste. Citric fruits ltos of them, and some sweeter ones like peach and apricot. It leads to a very dryi and bitter finish.Rough around the edges but enjoyable nevertheless.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with brief, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and hints of pine needles. Hoppy, fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, crystal malt, pine needles and a dry finish with a generous piney/citric bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Nice and tasty.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bitter with strong floral hops followed by light pine and caramel. The flavor was strong floral, fruity and resiny hops and was intensely bitter with undertones of bread and caramel. The finish was long, rough and hoppy. Medium body. Solid.

Whole Foods Market, DC six-pack ($9): Pours a copper-amber color with an off-white head and a little lacing (i.e. on the darker side of IPAs). Aroma is intensely fruity, grapefruit is in there plenty; hops of course are there, but who would have doubted that. A little bit of spice too. Taste is pretty hoppy from end to beginning. Astringency starts hitting in the end and leads into moderate, though not extreme, aftertaste. This IPA seems to me to be more of a left coast thing, but of course, that is not a bad thing. I was pleasantly surprised by this more or less random buy.

From tap at Lord Hobo. Pours clear and golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, slight peachy and mild mango. Bitter, citrusy and crisp hops fruity. Bitter and dry finish, yet fruity mild.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours a very hazy copper with an off-white foamy white head. Lots of fruit and citrus in the aroma. Med body. Flavor is mostly citrus over a thin malt backbone. It’s flavorful, but it’s not intense. It’s claim to respect is that it is somehow astringent in the finish. So good overall.

Bottle. Poured a moderately light orange color, medium white head. Aroma is hoppy, laced heavily with malts. Flavor is fruity hops, hops - might not be as bitter as some IPAs, but it’s a good, solid example of the style.

Nice orange with a white head. Full of grapefruit in aroma and flavor. Citrus , resiny hops, light floral, apricot, and the lightest of malts. Powerful bitterness on the end. Really liked this one.
