Cask @ Royal Oak, Halifax. Very dark with a creamy off-white head. It's palatably smoked in both aroma and taste with ham flavours here. It has an easy enough drinking texture for a dark ale, but gets dense in its aftertaste with mild vanilla.

Cask-conditioned at the Green Man, Bristol 28/3/2013. Almost black in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of plain chocolate, black coffee and a whiff of smoke. Flavour had more chocolate, roasted malts and liquorice, before a dryish finish. Very good.
