Pineapple Haze
PROCESS & TASTE
We ferment the highest quality freshly pressed New York apples to dryness using champagne yeast and then add our blend of tart pineapple juice.
DESCRIPTION
This tropical fruit is indigenous to South America. In the wild, pineapple plants can yield fruit for up to 50 years. Pineapple cores contain high levels of bromelain, an enzyme which can be used to tenderize meats. The sweet and tart qualities of this fruit balance well against the natural acidity of freshly pressed apples.

Looks like lemonade. Smells some kindah mild fruit. First taste impression is that of a boosted alky malt beverage. Yes, alky flavored malt bomb. Now, after I get used to it, it does seem to be a pineapple flavored sort of cider. You certainly can tell its stronger ABV. Not as sweet as a woodchuck but it does come across like a so so fruit cider. I like pineapple juice and this sort of departs from that. Co2 level is ok on this one. Not bad overall, but could be a little more refreshing and just maybe a little less artificial in the taste. It says it uses real pineapple juice, so I'm not sure what the story is.

Pours lightly hazy gold. It smells primarily of pineapple with some apple under that. The flavor is lightly sweet, so a bit on the dry side for most store bought ciders. Pineapple and apple blend pretty well.

On tap @Gnarly Barley Sandwich Shop. Pint glass. Barely translucent, jellied stemless pour. Dessert apple sweetness, lots of pineapple juice, subtle vanilla, soda sweetness. Dried pineapple, apple juiciness & weak tartness, obviously sulfite dried fruit dust, hidden vanilla, weak lime & malic acid. Trash cider candy. Half-ass attempt. Brand has way more resources than this.

Hazy pale yellow with a small foamy white head that faded quickly. Tart and tangy with apple flesh, a bit of mustiness and some pineapple. Medium finish and body.

Very pale clear yellow color with typical apple cider aroma. Taste is a combination of apple cider and pineapple juice, slightly sweet and slightly dry. Nice.
