Bottle at America on Tap slightly hazy light golden color. Aromas of sweet bready malt and plenty of diacytyl. Not nearly dry enough or hoppy enough to be a Czech pilsner.

Pours pale gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Caramel and saaz aromas. Bomber from Whole Foods Market Darien. Pouurs a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral and grassy hops and bready malts. The taste is grassy and floral with a pale malt finish. Medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Sweet biscuity malts in the nose with light notes of straw. Medium sweet flavor, some nice doughy bread, light bitter straw, some white sugar. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty clean finish, more sweet, white bread malts, mild bitterness. Not too complex. Very easy.

22oz bottle-pours yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is light malt-bready, grassy. Taste is light malt-bready/cereal, 2nd grassy hops. Minimal carbonation.

I drank this in a hotel room and had to drink from a clear plastic cup, came from a 22 oz. bottle I got at a package store in Enfield, CT. Paid $4.33. Nose was cereal grains, malt and some mild hops. The bottle had time to warm on my drive and check- in to the hotel and I got to say, the flavor was nice. Very good balance between malt and hops, a short, crisp finish. Lots of grass notes. Decent flavor here. I would buy and drink again if I’m looking for a lighter summer beer.

Draught pint at Redbones, 12/3/05. Pours a very clear hay-yellow, simple, with a small white head that eventually recedes to a ring. Spotty lacing is quite present, plenty of carbonation. Aroma of dry, farmy hops, light grass and strong herbs. A distinct fruitiness (dry nectarines, peaches, lemons) makes me question the yeast, but it fits in with the honey and strong hoppiness. The flavor is immediately fruity, with unripened nectarines and peaches and a slight touch of apples and vanilla. Saazy hops and a fair amount of fresh, chewy yeast add light complexity, while the malt flavor takes over. Honey, light white grapes sweetness and lots of grainy, lightly husky pale malt grains on the end. Carbonation is moderate, adding some biting texture, while the malt never gets terribly sweet. But for an American pils, the hops and yeast, albeit questionably lagerish in nature, make for a flavorful experience, whether it be a lager or ale. Tight, but lightly sharp carbonation and a lightly grainy feel, with plenty of yeast apparency.
