A chestnut-coloured ale, brewed in the traditions of the classic Scottish heavy. This beer balances a malt-forward profile that combines caramelised and roasted malts with low bitterness from British grown hops. Expect a brisk, sessionable beer with a characterful finish of subtle caramel, chocolate and treacle.

330ml can. Clear chestnut with beige head. Aroma is predominantly roasted malt with some caramel and chocolate. From this I was expecting it to be dry and roasted but there is more of a session balance to it. Moderately sweet and bitter with chocolate, caramel, light roast, blackcurrant and a hint of spicy hop. Medium bodied, slick. Decent.

33cl can via Beer52: BBE March 2026, drank at home on 9th November 2024. Poured into my Gordons thistle shaped glass, it looked fine, deep chestnut body, beige crown on top. Malty molasses rule the roost here, it's fairly sweet and thin but I quite liked it.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A bright chestnut coloured pour with a thin beige head; malty aroma with a hint of spice; rather thin with a sweet malty taste; then some caramel and a light spicy bitterness to finish.
