The Hopfish - a brilliant little thing. Catch one and reminisce about the classic days of IPAs fortified by multiple additions of hops and balanced with the residual sweetness of caramel malts. The Hopfish is always ready to take on the harsh conditions of the ever changing beer world.

Chris and Alisa brought this one back from a trip to New Jersey +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was crystal malt, grapefruit, lemon and a touch of pepper. The flavor was bitter and malty with a noted crystal malt presence and grapefruit, caramel and vague fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Tap at Dinosaur Bar-BQ Pours rather unclear, darker amber . Small white head ( rather stable ) Smell is unintense, slightly bittered malty scent . Taste is mild bitter . Malty , light aroma , but not as much as you’d expect from a US IPA . finish is a bit perfumy-fruity ... Seems to me like hopextracts, though I am not sure about that.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance had a slight amber to orange color with a half finger white foamy head. There was a moderately light lacing sticking all around after the head died after a minute.
The smell had some earthy hops with a gentle light malt underneath.
The taste was semi-sweet with a decent light bitterness from the earthy and now coming across as somewhat English malty-like.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly subdued.
Overall, this came off as more of an English IPA to me. No worries, still somewhat decent enough to have again.
