Our best bitter made with a good dose of Challenger and EKG hops giving a well rounded flavour and aroma. Light copper in colour this beer is a firm favourite with our regulars.

Cask at the 10th Colchester Winter Beer Festival. Pours hazy mid-brown with a small white head. Aroma of hop, fruit and caramel. Light sweetness and medium slightly unpleasant bitterness. Light/medium body and oily texture, carbonation is soft. Finish is dry, and floral. Not sure it was at its best today.

Light translucent brown. Just enough head to be interesting. Faint woody and herby aroma. Taste however is a revelation. Exceptional bitterness with a sweet edge.

Cask at Baxter’s Court, JDW, London. Pours clear yellow with a light, creamy-filmy white cap. Aroma holda light straw and lemony citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor with some faintly tangy lemon and decent grassy hay hops. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with a light, grassy hop bite and faintly toasted sugar, wet hay, and some lasting bitter grass. Not that bad, in fact.

15th July 2010. Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy gold beer. Light palate. The malt has a light smoky edge to it. Reasonable hop fruit. A little unusual when combined with the smoky malt. Finishes dry.

Half pint, guest ale on cask at The White Star in Stoke. Nitro white head over an amber body with a slight haze. Rather anonymous in aroma and taste. Some moments of dried fruits and plain malts can be spotted. Short lived bitter finish. A comedown compared to all the Titanic brews at the pub (02.05.2009).
