Keg at GBBF '22 day 2, 03/08/22. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is dark malts, dried fruits, cocoa powder, liquorice, spice. Taste comprises chocolate, light charr, pine needle, dried fruits, ashen notes, brown bread, light smoke. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Decent enough CDA.

Keg at gbbf 2022 day 2. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Aroma is robust earthy roast, pepper, grass, char, nutty. Flavour is nice layered earthy roast, liquorice, charred wood light pine, sticky sap. On the roasty end of black ipa. Palate is semi sweet oily, bitter roast, highish carbonation. Good.

From cask at the GBBF with Holmen1 and Stephen 03.08.22. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Aroma and taste of pine, ash, smoked malt and grapefruit. Well-balanced, interesting and surprisingly quaffable.

Cask: Poured a dark brown chocolate with bubble tan head. Aroma is rich roasted malts, that cascade hops fights though. Taste is blend of smokiness, hops bite, roasted malts, very lively on the palate. Best I’ve had in awhile.

9/10/2020. Cask takeaway from the Urban Island brewery tap. Pours very dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is roasted, earthy, hoppy, chocolate, cocoa, touch nutty and fruity. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice roasted fruity drying finish. Very nice example of the style (though why has someone quick rated this a 1 thus undeservedly bringing down the average so much?).
