Svart med brunt skum. Lukter mørk sjokolade, kakao og stenfrukt. Fyldig. Søt start, lønnesirup, brent karamell og lett floralsk smak. Middels lang.

(650ml bottle from Mikkeller & Friends Bottle Shop, Copenhagen) Pours pitch black with a tiny brown ring that lingers. Aroma is very rich and sweet with notes of dark maple syrup, toffee, sweet chocolate, rich stewed dark fruits and port, biscuit/cookie type malt, light to moderate roast, wood, subtle spicebox accents and vanilla. Flavour is heavily sweet up front, again a lot of port (tawny more than ruby) with dark, dried fruits like prune, chocolate syrup, vanilla, dark caramel, light maple up front. Dries from mid-sip on though only off-dry by the finish, woody accents, light roast and subtle char, maple building into the finish. Aftertaste is maple cookie, barrel, dark fruity malt, a little roast/burnt wood bitternes, some alcohol. Medium-full, viscious and syrupy with soft carbonation. Intense stuff here, even though the maple itself is not overwhelming like it is in many big maple barrel stouts. Like the fruity port vibes a lot.
