Amedee is our Belgian Dark Strong Ale. Brewed in the summer and bottle-conditioned for several months to peak maturity, this traditional celebratory beer is sure to warm you up this winter.
Pouring a nearly black, dark-brown color in the glass, Amedee carries notes of rich caramel, varied dark fruits, brown sugar, holiday spice, and Belgian Candi Syrup atop a creamy malt base.
With warming alcohol on the finish, Amedee is the ideal beer to share and let warm in front of a blazing fire in winter. It will evolve gracefully for five years or more.

355ml bottle [at 11.3% abv]. Cloudy, dark red to auburn colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark yellow-ish, tan head. Rather cautious, sweet-ish, minimally toasty, caramel malty, yeasty fruity and slightly spicy aroma, hints of dried fruit, raisin, a touch of brown sugar, clove, whiffs of wood and burnt sugar. Taste is sugary sweet-ish, caramel malty, yeasty fruity and spicy, slightly alcoholic, hints of caramel, brown sugar, rock sugar, dried fruit, raisin, a touch of ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, aniseed; warming, alcoholic finish.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery textue, smooth and soft, minimally cloying, also minimally pungent palate, medium to fine, very dense, foamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Relatively cautious, or not overly intense, quite sugary sweet, well dosed spiciness - not that impressive.

Bottle from Tewksbury. Deeply hazy mahogany-dark brown, tons of sparkle, creamy head with good retention, light lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, dark fruit, brown sugar, milder holiday spice. Taste is dominant strong toasted caramel, mild dark fruit, touch of alcohol. Smooth, frothy texture, med bodied, average carbonation, slight alcohol heat, finish as taste.

Карамельный приятный аромат, радует что без сильных хмелей, но весьма однобокий при этом. Вкус такой же карамельный, легкие темные фрукты, но нету глубины вообще.

12oz bottle murky amber with a ring if beige head. Nose has big candy and malt, dates and raisins, figs, some fruit cake. Flavor is huge schnapps and booze, aperitif, some lees or wine jelly, marzipan. A little burnt like the sugar hit the kettle. Full bodied, boozy finish.

Bottle, Tewks, 4/8/23. Clear prune juice, almost no head. Lotta raisin, lotta prune. Vanilla, caramel, low phenol, no alcohol. Pushing it on the sweetness. Not phenolic or boozey but with heavy raisin sweetness, lots of prune, light caramel. Very rich, sweet though. Nice it's not phenolic but it's just a bit too malty and under fermented.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma shows me candy sugar, molasses, raisins. Flavor follows the aroma. Finish ends on rock candy, and Belgian yeast. Mildly sweet with a hint of booze. Pretty good.
