Beers of the World country 165: Guyana 🇬🇾
"When it comes to the beer I would have hoped for something better for the “final” country in South America. It has a dark golden colour with a thin foam head when poured into the glass. Once I started drinking it there was little carbonation left. The taste is sweet and malty, almost like some of the non-alcoholic malt beverages I’ve had from some muslim countries. Slightly more crisp and bitter towards the end, but not a lager I would have again." - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com

20/III/22 - sample from a trade, shared @ home, BB: n/a (2022-267) Thanks to Teemu for the trade!
Clear gold blond beer, small creamy white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, corn, barn yard, sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, grains, cow fodder, bit metallic, good bitterness. Aftertaste: slightly sourish, hoppy, grassy, little sugary, corn syrup, metallic touch, pretty decent for a South American lager!

0,25l from bottle at a restaurant in Lethem. BB 03/2020. Golden clear color, small white head. Smells cardboard, earthy, peppery, washcloth, spices. Not that great smell. Light body, light carbonation. Tastes sweet, earthy, peppery, cardboard, washcloth, hints of citrus, tobacco. Finishes lightly bitter with notes of cardboard, sweetness and peppery notes. Not really that great. 5,3,5, 2,9

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Clear golden colour, foamy white head and light aroma of corn, grainy. Taste is sweet, corn, grain, malt caramel, with notes of straw, grass and light bitterness. Watery mouthfeel, light bodied, medium carbonation, sweetish & grainy light bitter at the finish. Fairly bland.
