Intensely malty, caramely and sweetish with some oak, toffee, barrel, vanilla, hints of syrup and raisins, prunes and figs. Nice.

Bottle at ASF 2024 tasting. Courtesy of Federico, shared with him, Eric and Miro B. Dark brown, no head. Caramel, toffee, super sweet, sugary, dense and somewhat oily. Full bodied. Nice, but too sweet.

Brownish colour, no head, looks fairly flat. Brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, sugar overload. Big dates, bourbon, soft sugars, vanilla, sultana, so sweet boozy richness. Nice finisher.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of toffee, layers of caramel, light notes of chocolate, toasted bread and treacle with hints of roast notes. Light oak notes and a bit of bourbon and alcohol notes. Pours dark brown, not really black with light brown hues on the edges and a medium sized, medium thick, frothy, tan head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers. No lacing and very long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with loads of caramel and toffee. Lighter toasted bread, chocolate, treacle and faint honey and roast notes. Moderate bitterness and medium light alcohol warmth. Light oak notes and medium light bourbon notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit silky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium light alcohol warmth. Overall, a really solid barleywine. Great malt profile with nice barrel notes. Alcohol is well hidden and surprisingly balanced for the abv. This is a really tasty, big barleywine.

Tap at Ale Arsenal as part of SF Beerweek. Restrained arome of bourbon and rich bread. Dark brown with minimal head around the collar. Cola, coffee flavors. Cloying and flavor retains throughout.
