We had our pals from Other Half over recently to brew some hoppy Double IPA. Brian cut his teeth brewing at Other Half in Brooklyn years ago, so it was great to catch up over a big hoppy ding dong. We brewed this one with barley, wheat, and flaked oats; hopped and dry hopped it with tons of Citra, Cashmere, and Motueka; and fermented it with a classic American ale yeast.

Can, from Vinyl, Manhattan. Pours clear dark yellow with a large foamy off-white head, lemon peel aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter lightly pinet lemon peel taste, thin body, long smooth finish. Well rounded, smooth DIPA.

16oz can pours a clear dark gold, big frothy white head.Β Nose is gentle with the hops, orange and herbs, minty, some crackery grist.Β Wouldn't call is West Coast but it definitely ain't East.Β Flavor dials it up more, honey, grain, some C hop, some citrus.Β Like a lighter (very) version of Hopslam.Β Dry finish, full bodied though with some bite.Β 6 5 7 4 12

Clear, sticky, orange amber tulip @Churchkey. Orange oil, citra, slightly danky, steeped Constant Comment tea nose. Obvious citra. Sharp, oversteeped tea tannins, honey, basic Cheerios. Wants to finish dry but it's honey-sticky. Pretty good.

Nice to have an IPA with oats that doesnt come off all oat cream. Tangerine and lemon peel. Light bitter end, with decent body. Nice stuff. Tastes light for a DIPA on booze, but flavourful. Tap at CK.

Can from source: pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is citrusy, some Pine notes, a flower or two. Taste is some bitterness that is more apparent in finish. Mellow rounded sweetness. Pretty good.
