We still have no set recipe for Running Beer, but blend to a similar flavour profile each time. By producing a variety of worts and welcoming the natural variation we are given by the barrels, we are presented with a broader palette to play with.
This batch is a blend of three brews produced in June, September and November 2018.
These rye-heavy worts fermented and matured entirely in well seasoned oak barrels for an average of eighteen months. The bottles were then left to condition at ambient temperature for a further eight months before release.

Bottle. Mills online, probably. Not sure why this is a separate entry. Anyhoo. Pale orange gold with a light haze. Super dense, lasting, bright white foam. Looks glorious. Nose has sawn wood and pithy lemon rind. Floral and old world spicy hop. Bit of white gooseberry. Light bretty funk. Taste has a fresh fruit sweetness, with tart, juicy, spicy bitterness. Bright and lightly tart on the palate with soft, foamy carbonation. Juicy tartness in spades on the finish. Necked it.
