Pours black, no real head. Scent is roasty, bit hot on the barrel (alcohol) . Some chocolate, notes of coffee as well. Taste is full, thick and roasty, dark chocolate, mild coffee. Quite boozy, but not over-the-top-crazy. Lightest smokyness to it towards the back. Not getting much vanilla, perhaps these are whisky barrels rather than Bourbon ? ( note, I found out the can states cognac + heaven hill bourbon) A more than decent thick imperial stout, but the barrel profile can be improved, and it never truly 'grabs' me in general in any specific direction.

On tap at MBCC 2025 (Yellow session), pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is full of perfumey cognac notes upfront, with harsh roast, maybe some woody bourbon in back. Flavour is harsh and perfumey, with plenty of hot cognac, wood, roast, and alcohol. Very messy and harsh, finishing with perfumey cognac. Not a fan.
MBCC 2025. Session #1
Toasted barrel, sweet, bold. Massive on barrel and molasses.
