ALL CENTENNIAL PALE... A single hop citrus pale dedicated to the divine disclosure of the hop that is Centennial. Whole cone in the kettle with a zingy dry hop addition using new season Centennial T90 and Cryo hops. Big clean hits of pink grapefruit, lemon, tangerine and lime with a resinous bitter finish.

Soo bitter and mango. Not the usual high standard. #sxshare

440ml can. Opaque pale golden with a lasting white head. Very citrusy aroma, grapefruit, lemon, resinous, and honey(?) strangely. Taste of bitter grapefruit, lemon, pithy citrus, resinous, extremely bitter, I'd almost describe this as acrid. Medium body, soft carbonation. Weird, it's not one of Wylam's best, a little disappointing.

Can at home, picked up at HL1, 03/03/19. Murky orange with a decent white covering. Nose is bitter orange, straw, light fart, over ripe tropical fruits, a little raw. Taste comprises bitter orange, chalky mineral notes, toasted grains, raw pineaple, toasted malts, pithy citrics. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, with earthy hop bitterness. Passable pale ... bit of a let down if I'm honest ... a touch raw and disjointed.

Can. Color: Very hazy yellow orange, white head. Aroma: Floral, resinous and citrus hoppy. Taste: Floral and lightly resinous hop with subtle grapefruit and tangerine notes. Medium bitterness, moderate sweet. Some more grapefruit and fruity bitter notes at finish. Medium body, average to slightly above average carbonation. Ok, but I was hoping for more.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Super hazy, slightly dirty gold. Minimal white head. Nose has fusty, mouldy citrus. Petrol. Cardamom, weirdly. Some burnt rubber. Smells odd, at best. Taste is pretty rank, burnt and acrid bitterness. Medium body. Prickly carbonation. Lingering, nasty bitterness to finish. A big miss.

Can from Cork & Cask. Milky golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pear, liquorice root and heather honey. Flavour of orange pith, lime chutney and bay leaf. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. I find the Centennial hop to be very distinctive, and this is an excellent showcase of its qualities.
