Brewed with premium American malt, Cascade and Simcoe hops, and hand-picked Colorado spruce tips, our winter IPA is highlighted by notes of candied orange peel and fresh pine needles supported by a sturdy malt backbone. When the air turns crisp and the snowflakes begin to fall, bust out the ski wax and crack open an Upslope Spruce Tip IPA.

Taster at Payette. Clear golden pour, small frothy white head. Hoppy aroma, pine. Taste is spruce, pine, resinous, oily. Classic NW bitterness with a little stickiness.

On Tap at Payette Brewing, Boise. Clear deep golden pour. Thin skin of tan bubbles. Light copper malt aroma. Very faint pine/spruce on this otherwise moderately piney malty IPA.

12 oz can. Pours a clear rich copper-bronze color with a medium sized white head that soon fades away. The aroma is rather mild and understated with traces of pine, rock candy and fresh evergreen. The taste, like the aroma, was more subtle than bold--I get bitter pine, woods, rock candy and some sweetened malts. The palate was medium in viscosity and the carbonation was soft. Finished short and dry with a bit of astringency. Overall: Decent old school IPA. This went down easy, I rather liked it. Paired well with some old Swiss cheese.

Can at BRACT #1. Med-thin body, med-light carbonation. Spruce light in aroma, kinda lost in flavour. Overall rather neutral, inoffensive. Easy drinking, but could use more character. Med-high bitterness, light sweetness. Med-light grassy piney zesty hoppiness. Good but not great.

Weicher, angenehm hopfiger Beginn mir Rosmarin und Karamell. Süffig, milde Herbe, leichte Süße, etwas trocken. Dunkel malzig, cremig, weiterhin stark kräutrig. Gut! 10/11/11/12/9/12
