We often believed that the brethren of Northern Monk were not of these realms. Emmerging from the depths of Atlantis with the rarest of blue Yuzu & passion fruit was Brian gracing us with their usage in this out of worldly sour

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Clear bright radioactive algae green, huge coarse head. Aroma of passionfruit and piney yuzu. Tart with underlying sweetness. Light bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Tastes like an energy drink with passionfruit and yuzu flavouring. No trace of malt, nor fernentation. Would be my choice of drink in a McDonalds soda fountain.

440ml can as part of a delivery from RAD beer and drunk at home. I pour it and… oh God. It’s… teal. Clear, with a quickly dissipating aquamarine head. Hell, you know what, this is fun. Bright berry-ish smell that I suppose is the yuzu, with the intensity of passionfruit. Tart taste, some gentle sweetness, citrus sour candy, lime zest. Sourness holds its own until the finish. Good flavour. Light-ish body with zesty but not out of control carbonation. I am very, very fond of this.

440ml can. Pours a hazy vibrant dark green (definitely not blue! Brewer picked the wrong colourings I think). Aroma of passionfruit, yuzu, lactic sourness. Taste is pretty tart, sour, big yuzu citrus hit, passionfruit. Decent sour.

Can ordered from RAD Beer. Aroma is tart, sharp. But with a fruity streak. Cloudy blue tinged green. Foamy green head quickly does a runner. Sour hit. Fruity gummy sweets. Citrus yuzu and passion fruit. Zesty. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Sourness and zesty fruitiness combined. Plus it is pleasingly odd in appearance.

26/11/2024. Can from Northern Monk Refectory, Leeds. Pours a most curious looking castleton green with a short lasting frothy light green head. Aroma is citrus, passion fruit, yuzu, lime, leaf, hedgerow. Very nice passion fruit and yuzu sourness, slight salted edge. Medium body, average carbonation. Touch of heartburn to finish. A very different brew to look at, did like it.

Can 440ml (Alko web)
Poison green colour, small white head. Tart aroma of mix of yuzu and licorice. Light-bodied. Tartness with fruity, citrusy yuzu. Some fruityness but passion fruit is down under. Weird but same time typical Cool Head.
