(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 22 Nov 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, milky coffee and toasted oats. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, milky coffee, toasted oats, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Soft, smooth and well balanced. Nice one.

Cask at The Hope, Carshalton ... where's your fucking beer festival ? 29/11/24. Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to the edge. Nose is chocolate, charr, roast malts, raisins. Taste comprises brown bread, cocoa sprinkle, light roast, charr, biscuit, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Tidy enough cask stout.

Cask at Hope, Carshalton. Aroma is sweet caramel. Slightly sour edge. Opaque dark brown. Thin foamy beige head. Caramel sweetness with a medium bitter coffee edge. Molasses and malts. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-soft carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Nice enough but unexciting.
