500ml bottle @ Benzai's Anti-Carnival Valentine's Day Tasting, Feb 26. Thanks to Mike for squirreling this away for me. Pours black, medium sized off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts. Flavour profile brings a hearty stout profile, good balanced malt, comforting roast, perhaps a hint of nuts alongside the roast, with a sessionable medium body. Proper stout. Slightly confused by what Benzai tasted, can only assume it wasn't this beer.

Bottle shared at Anti-Carnavalstasting 2026. Opaque brown to black color, average sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, green rotting leaves, bitter. Hmm no way off. Don't like it at all.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Dark brown and translucent with a small smattering of beige head. Flowery aroma, some bready malt, chocolate and a little red liquorice. Taste is sweet without being cloying. Finishes with a gentle bitterness. Soft to medium carbonation. Very nice.

Dark brown, near black, with a ruby tinge and a creamy tan head. Nice milk chocolate aroma, creamy and smooth with soft roasted malt, hints of dark fruit and nuts with a milk chocolate blanket and just a touch of mellow coffee in the finish, also sensing a hint of smoke

Cask at Egham Beer Fest Summer 24. Aroma is bitter- charcoal and coffee. Opaque darkest brown. Frothy foamy off-white head. Sour berries with a creamy edge. Develops a bitter coffee streak. Light-medium bodied. Creamy. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Creamy and bitter but bland.
