500 ml bottle, from Skjold Burne Hjørring. ABV is 7.5%. Cloudy brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma of crushed rowanberries and honey, hints of rye bread. Slightly acidic flavour of rowanberries, nicely balanced with honey and special grains. Can't detect the smoked malts. The hops are very moderate. Would buy again.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear nutty brown with a fizzy, beige head that dissipates in no time. Sweet caramel aroma with a spicy edge - gale? Medium body, excessive carbonation, initially sweet and spicy but a massive tartness comes rushing in, combined with astringency. An attempt on a so-called Nordic Ale. Well, if there ever was a beer like this in historic times then I'm glad I wasn't born back then. In these modern times at least I have a sink to drainpour this in. 110219
