How far is too far? You might have heard about being overtrained, and that’s exactly what happened with this one. Black, strong and extremely powerful, this smoking Herculean legionnaire is this year’s last line of defense. You’re dead set on taking him on? We say: let’s start by taking it easy...

330ml can at Pardoen, Rotterdam. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, liqourice, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A simple, old skool impy stout that does the job!

Can. Color: Black, very light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, licorice, mocha notes. Taste: Dark roasted malt, licorice, dark coffee, molasses, vanilla hints. Full body, smooth, dense and oily mouthfeel. Just below average carbonation. Not that complex, but overall nice Imperial Stout.
