A classy and archetypical French Foreign Legionnaire. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore, that’s for sure. He might come across as a little stiff, but you can always count on him to warm your heart, and that surely has something to do with a fine Hennessy Barrel Aged training.

Can. Jacques Le Sac? Surely the best Galliic pornstar you have never heard of? Anyways - hazy brown - amber beer, tiny pale tan head. Nose is a pleasant biscuity cookie malt affair, but strangely sans cherry or cognac! Alright, maybe a touch of ripe fruit soaked cognac. Palate starts smooth, very mildly viscous, develops good fine carbonation on the back end. Malts deliver and deliver well, cream, caramel and toffee with a nice touch of that cookie dough carrying over from the snout. Very good ripe fruits, rich and layered and with a cognac edge but cognac is not the dominant character. Some kirsch cherry develops on the back end, along with vanilla oak, a little alcohol spice and a trace of woody bitterness. A rich and rewarding affair. Sweetish but not wandering into desert barleywine territory. Good integration between the malts and the barrelling, the cherry kinda lurks in there but comes out to say hi before it's too late. Nice. Layered and tasty.

Can. Color: Dark copper, light beige head. Aroma: Very sweet dark dried fruit, sticky toffee. Taste: Sweet, sticky, caramel toffee, dark dried fruit, raisins, fruity Cognac, sugary. Over medium to full body, low carbonation. A bit too sweet and lacking complexity in my opinion, OK overall but definitely not the best of the 2021 Foreign Legion.
