Draft at Taplokaal Gist. My first draft Fantôme. Color: Hazy orange amber, thin off-white head. Aroma: Orange, tangerine, stone fruit. Taste: Spicy, orange and tangerine. Caramel notes also. Hints of.stone fruit. Starting more fruity and getting more spicy towards the finish. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Moderate bitterness, over moderate sweetness. Hints of yeast and honey. Just over medium body, just under average carbonation. Very nice. If it wasn't for the high alcohol I could drink this all day.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Billed at 11.5%. Pours medium hazy amber, with very fine white foam. Aroma is fruity, alcoholic. Body is dense, with good carbonation. Taste is really particular, spicy and eucalyptus, medium-high sweet, with some final bitterness.

Poured from one of the newer 750 ml bottles. Aroma is fairly fruity with lots of red apple, pear and hints of stone fruit. Light hop notes and medium light cracker malt notes with hints of caramel. Light alcohol notes. Pours a clear, copper-orange with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small, thick, pillowy white head that persists. Moderately high amount of lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with caramel, burnt sugar, cracker and honey notes. Moderate bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. Light herbal notes. Moderate pear, red apple and lighter stone fruit notes. Lingering sugar, bitterness and herbal notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an overly sweet, weird beer. Lots of cloying sweetness and malt notes. A bit of fruity and floral esters and faint herbal phenolics.

Super sweet stuff here. Honey and florals, with a hint of coriander. Pours murky brownish orange with ok head and good lacing. Sticky and sweet finish. Nothing subtle to this one – was hoping the ratings were wrong, but not so much. Tap at Sovereign.
