Loads of dark fruit, Candi sugar, and the traditional unkbroue, yeast, fruity yeast character. Very effervescent, full mouth feel. Medium bitter, big yeast, fruity, semi sweet, and semi dry finish.

A gift from Paul, thanks man! Aromas have maple dominating with a little bit of molasses, raisins, leather and dark malt. Flavors are similar to nose, molasses, raisins and bitter come out more. Just right carbonation to balance the sweetness. And the sweetness is balanced very well with bitter and carbonation. Pretty good beer.

Leather, toffee. Old tobacco. Some light prune. Attic dust. Dark brown pour with decent head. Bitter oak finish with a little caramel. Not my favorite unibroue. Tap at Sergios.

An unexpected find at a Dallas Trader Joe's a couple of months ago. I have a corked and caged 750 ml bottle to open before tilting inside of my Straffe Hendrik large tulip glass. The appearance is a dark caramel body finished with a healthy head of very fine, parchment brown bubbles. What a fine scent, now I'm wishing I had bought two bottles. Very ripe, dark fruit, pancake syrup and a slice of dark bread. The drink does not deliver quite like the smell suggests, no problem with that, but it is still very good. Dates, malt, raisins, scorched bread, hard candy, maple and something herbal. Different from any other dark Belgian ale I remember. I will enjoy this bottle.

Dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights, a bubbly-frothy beige head, good retention and some some thick foamy lacing. Aromas of toasted malts with a sweet touch of maple syrup, and after breathing... some decent herbal hops come out. The taste shows some mintiness, as I remember having in their other anniversary brews. It refreshes the roasted malt base, and cuts the syrupy sweetness. Alcohol comes out in the nose, but not as warming in the mouth. A good Belgian strong ale stout with a touch of maple.

Dark brown, thick head, fruity but thin, burnt dates not much else. Seems too simple for my tastes today.

750mL bottle, pours black with a large beige head. Nose brings out gentle maple syrup, Belgian yeast, and gentle esters. Flavour has a nice roasted malt base, accompanied by a nice spicy Belgian yeast character and a tiny hint of maple syrup. Surprisingly nice integration of the Belgian yeast with the roast. Excellent as always with Unibroue.

750 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Decorked with a loud pop and vapor. Poured clear dark brown with a monstrous finely foaming tan head. Aroma is strongly maple. Full bodied. Flavor is maple with some moderately roasty malt. Surprisingly not all that sweet (not dry tho). Earthy, maple impression. Something like bitter in that. Nice flavor.
