Pretty good. The ginger is pretty well tempered and doesn’t destroy the stout elements. Pours black with good head and lacing. Not a hell of a lot of roast, that being said. Sweet finish. Tap at Churchkey.

Served in sampler. Dark brown with strong gingerbread and vanilla aroma and taste. Creamy with a great lingering finish. A very artful gingerbread stout.

Bottle [from local swap worldwide edition thanks to nimbleprop] @ weekly tasting shared with Joes and Thompson. Very dark brown to black color, average sized beige to slight brown head. Aroma is huge ginger and (Dutch) speculaas, herbs or spices. Taste malts, again huge ginger, again some "speculaas" and herbs or spices with a touch of sweet-bitter. Although, after a while you kind of get used to it and it gets a little better. That is, if you don’t like herbs or spices. After a while the huge ginger subsides and becomes a bit chocolate and caramel. Smooth texture, decent body and soft carbonation. Nice treat I would never ever have tried otherwise!

Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown-black color with some ruby around the edges, and a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lace. Malt and gingerbread aroma. Medium to full body with a sweet gingerbread character and notes of burnt malt and slight dark fruit. The finish is sweet with a gingerbread aftertaste. Solid beer that hits the target.

750 ml bottle. Thanks to Adam Jackson on this 2013 vintage. Yes, I am drinking a ginger bread beer in September, what to make a thing about it? Deep brown color with plenty of head retention. Aroma is a lot of spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and mild nutty hints.

The flavor is more along the true organic/ natural ginger bread flavor. Unlike a Boston beer made ginger bread stout I had holiday’s of beers past. This stout is subtle and integrated pretty well. The body is a tad thinner for a higher gravity stout, got to say the spice is nicely subtle. At 9.2 % with spice this is damn easy to down. Finishing snifter number two right now!
