A caramel maltiness with notes of toffee offers the perfect foundation for layers of flavour to be built brick by brick. Citrus flavours give way to marmalade and herbal notes. Balanced with a moreish and rounded finish.

Red ale with more of a west coast styling appearance, it does have a hoppy red ale taste though. Relatively easy textured, but full-bodied. The beer name
threw Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall' into my mind, which was number one on the first day of the 1980's.

Cask-conditioned at the Pelican, Gloucester, 22/3/2024. Deep amber in colour, with a billowy, off-white, head. Caramel, red berries, some orange peel, pine resin, floral hops, chewy malts, before a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy amber body and a few flecks floating beneath a beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee, nuts and stewed cranberries. Flavour of earth, caramel and copper. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A solid beer that more like a Bitter than a hoppy red beer.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 2nd April 2024. Deep reddish copper with loose, off-white foam and full lacing. Nutty malts and citrus zest in aroma. Lush citrus peel and spicy fruits in-mouth, all echoed in the finish. Full bodied with a smooth yet engaging mouthfeel. Exquisite.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear copper-gold with a big, frothy off-white head. Lightly sweet with notes of dried pine, floral hops, citrus peel, lightly toasted malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, moderately malty, balanced bitterness. Super solid.
