Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head. Complex aroma of coffee variations: coffee bean, cappuccino, mocha (biscuit), Kahlúa, chocolate sauce, candied date, prune. Taste has sweet candied date & fig in a thick dark-chocolatey, pecan-nutty malt body; a bitter layer of coffee & mocha, some cream and a vague hint of umami soy sauce. Soft earthy hops in the finish, lingering sweet mocha, cream and warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Rich, creamy and quite complex but lacking a bit more bitter roastiness.

440ml can at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur city centre. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is big molasses, earthy. The flavour is strong sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, roasty, oily, herbal, sugary light liquorice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Nice, but overly sweet.

12/11/2024. Can shared by Colin, cheers. Pours black with a small tan coloured head. Aroma is dark chocolate, dark malts, coffee, molasses, caramel, slight nutty edge. Quite sweet. Moderate roasted bitterness. Full bodied, smooth and oily, soft carbonation. Sweet camp coffee finish. Enjoyable, though the sweetness increases and becomes a bit overbearing.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Opaque dark brown beer, decent bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, soft light dark malt cream. The coffee is also very smooth and slightly fruity. Whisper of something estery and a little alcohol spice on the smooth finish. Different. Enjoyed this.
