Moutere is a NZ hop which we are enjoying getting to know a little better, having only used this particular hop twice before. Here, we think it brings a wave of tropical fruit flavours such as Passionfruit and Guava, while the Citra hops evoke flavours such as Ruby Grapefruit and pithy Orange, keeping this Pale ale refreshing and light against aromatic Piney and Grassy notes which are typical of NZ hops, Rakau and Moutere. The end result is a pleasant and refreshing Pale Ale full of aroma and packed with flavours of NZ.

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A trancluent golden yellow coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is soft wheat, woody citrus, grass, little green citrus. Flavour is composed of loose wheat, spicy citrus, lemon twist, grassy hop, mellow dank, little salt. Palate is semi sweet, spicy, highish carbonation. Not bad.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy golden body with a white head that slowly fades. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon meringue and golden kiwi fruit. Flavour of lemon, melon rind and lemongrass. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A green, hoppy pale ale in fantastic condition.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A light haze on this orange gold beer, small and short lived pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, not this but none of yer luxurious pillowy sweetness either! Light smooth pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Light piney hop overlay on some fairly juicy if thin hoppy citrus fruits. Of course, the NZ hoppage imparts a little lime but there are sweeter tropical elements here to. Finishes light and semi dry with a fair pinch of hop spice delivering a post swallow tongue massage. Rather nice then. So Track, I'm highly confident your reading this.... so how about a Moturere single hop DIPA? You know you want to brew it!

Tight white head left a rocky top on hazy vivid pale golden coloured body. Citrus, weed & onion aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a sharp cloying back. Citrus, melon, biscuit & mango tastes with sweeter hopped finish. Nice drinker - refreshing.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 23/06/24. Hazed orange with a lasting white cap. Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, papaya, mandarin, soft malts, light pine nip. Taste comprises ripe tropical fruits, pine needle, grass, melon, papaya, light stoned fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with balanced juicy come lightly grassy hop bitterness. Decent enough pale but not up the usual high standards of Track for me.
