DIPA Feat. Peacharine.

We were very fortunate to be one of a handful of breweries in the UK to get hold of this new and exciting hop variety from Freestyle Hops in NZ. Giant Peach is an 8% Double IPA with Peacharine, backed up with Citra and Galaxy spectrum.

We're tasting juicy peach, fleshy nectarine and strawberries.

440ml can. Hazy golden, white head. Aroma of peaches, papaya, guava. Taste is very peachy, tropical, juicy guava, papaya, grapefruit, pretty light bitterness but then it's not too sweet either so it's all good. Medium bodied, creamy smoothness. Really good.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 10/07/24. Hazed dirty orange with a lasting off white cap. Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, citric tinged straw, papaya, lemon rind. Taste comprises cantaloupe melon, grass, soft malts, papaya, guava, mandarin, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy come lightly resinous hop bitterness. Tidy enough IPA.

Can. A mild to medium haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. A light but pleasing stone fruits nose. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, mildly thin on the mouthfeel but plenty creamy sweet. Citra and Galaxy do what they do in 2024, decent citrus, broad banded and reasonably bright. Galaxy bringing that light tropical fruits. Anyone remember when Galaxy was fruit salad and a ton of bitterness? Pecharine is the new boy in town. Never easy to judge a new hop when chucked in with heavy hitters but here, a definite floral peach, quite sweet with it. Light smooth finish finds soft citrus coming back to the fore. Could do with a hoppy edge of some sort here, bitterness, savoury skunk or hop spice - take yer pick. However, the light hop fruity character that has been presented in this brew, I find quite seductive and very drinkable.
