Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours clear rich gold with a small white head. The aroma is rich, pungent, grassy, liquorice, fennel, spice and a touch of plastic. The taste is smooth, rich, straw, peppery spice, aniseed and a some green vegetables. Finish is peppery and rather dry. Medium body and soft carbonation. Can’t say I love Sorachi single hopped beers... Odd flavour profile.

9th August 2016
GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth with reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts. Tangy orange and tangy lemon. Smoother Sorachi lemon cream. Finishes fruity tangy and leaves a mild bitter linger. Sorachi elevates this one.

Gravity poured, third of a pint: 24th Aug 2016, Peterborough CAMRA beer festival. Golden orange pour, off-white top. Mild citrusy (mostly lemon) nose and flavour, a little grassy in nature too. Subtle brew and yet another ’single hop beer’ that did not really do much for me.

Cask at the Peterborough beer festival 27/08/2016. A clear dark orange coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is woody, dill, lemon, cedar pale grains. Flavour is composed of rustic grains, custard, woody, earthy citrus, bark. Not the best example of the hop. Palate is semi sweet grainy, highish carbonation. Ok.

Cask at GBBF’16, day one, 09/08/16. Golden blonde with a moderate off white covering. Nose is melon, citric peel, bread dough, orange. Taste carries a subtle Sorachi bite, lemon rind, grassy, pale malts, toasted grains, melon, light herbal rinse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dyring close. Ok sorachi golde ... more interesting than your average GB.
