Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Kupferrot, klar; reichlich beigefarbener Schaum.

(swing top bottle) Clear, copper to brown colour with a beige and firm foamy head. Distinctively nutty and mildly toasted malty aroma with a mildly bready and crusty background, also a touch of liquorice can be found. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Solid toast-malty base with notes of walnuts, caramel, chocolate and a whiff of molasses; sweet malty, mildly toasty finish with a rounded level of bitterness. Well-crafted Doppelbock. 07.I.14

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep copper coloured, big and stable loose off-white head, moderate to solid sweetish nutty nose with traces of wood, vanilla and port-wine; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, relatively light bodied; relatively dry lingering (wal-)nutty, toasty and vinous finish. A great franconian gem…

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt, caramel and hops. Clear, sweet flavour of malt, caramel and fruit with sparse hoppy notes and discernible but not disturbing alcohol presence. Sweetish aftertaste. Good. A really good Doppelbock.

Dobre i znow jak to czesto w piwie niemieckim wielka piana, trwala i puszysta. Machoniowo-brunatny odcien tego doppelbocka dopelnia pelny i tresciwy smak. Dominuje karmel, slodowosc i lekki chmiel aromatyczny. Alkohol ukryty. Pijalne piwo z ladna krachlowa butelka. Bardzo dobry doppelbock.

Cloudy mahogany with a medium to large beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel, molasses and dark fruits. Flavour was very sweet with roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. Finished sweet and only vague hops came through.

Draught at the brewpub. Fruity aroma. Dark brown colour. Big stable light brown head. The flavour is sweet and sugary, some molassis. Quite peppery, but OK balanced.
