Volks Extra Special Bitter is striking and impressive, beautiful, and unique, just like its name’s sake. Volks has a wonderful caramel-copper colour with an intense, powerful aroma of toffee, liquorice, plum, damson, honey and biscuit.

Hops: Olicana T45, Godiva, Admiral, Pilgrim

Keg at the Steamworks on the station platform at the seaside town of Seaford. Dark ruby-amber with a head. This is slightly off-white. It's a bitter with a clear dark-malty influence, and one that's clearly strong too - almost boozy in aroma. Its aftertaste of lingering dark malt and sugary-bread is tasty enough.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 12 May 2024) Reddish brown colour with frothy, tan head. Malty nose with caramel, nuts, chocolate and earthy hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, prunes, dark bread, dried fruit and a balanced earthy/spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made premium bitter. Very nice.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 2nd March 2024. Reddish brown with yellowy white foam and spot lacing. Malty aroma, with a little yeastiness. Rich and intense toasty maltiness in-mouth with hints of coffee and cherry fruits. A malty, yet bitter finish. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at Magpie, Brentford. Aroma of.burnt caramel. Clear dark brown. Thick foamy white head l... Long lasting the full three minutes. Light sweet - burnt caramel. Herbs throughout and a berry edge. Bitter woody elements appear into finish. Medium bodied. Verging on oily. Flat-average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. A hoppy ESB. Decent but wouldn't want to dri k too many ad tinged a bit too caramel and herby for.my tastes.
