75cl bottle @ Belgium. Shared with Ronnemos1. Pours dark amber copper with a small head. Vinous. Dried fruit and lots of wood and tannins. A touch of red wine with a pleasant tartness from the barrel which reminds of of something flemish. Charming. Warming alcohol. Long finish.

The latest one so far in this great series, aged on wine barrels (Bordeaux I presume, but the label does not state it explicitly). Thanks Craftmember for sharing! Moussy, pale yellowish beige, shred-lacing, opening and eventually almost dissolving head, deep dark bronze-brown robe with vermillion glow, misty at first, deeper hazy with sediment. Rich bouquet of cassis, blue plum, blue grape, rosé wine, black cherries, toffee, tawny port, oak wood and 'vanilla', pecan nut pie, Belgian chocolates, candi sugar, hemoglobin, brown bread, pistachio, glazed pear, butterscotch, bourbon. Candi-sweet onset but not cloying, lively sweet fruitiness with thin sourish edge, ripe plum, fresh fig, blackcurrant, ripe black cherries, pear; medium carb, rounded, lean, vinous body. Brown-bready and toffeeish maltiness, growing red wine vinosity and mild fruity tartness, clearly 'grapey' but with bourbon-like sweetness and caramelliness following too; gentle but clear tannic woodiness, warming port-like alcohol and lingering 'dark' fruitiness (plum, cherry, blackcurrant), making for a long, complex, almost 'juicy' finish. A wonderful 'bière de provision' once again - even better than most of its predecessors for me. Masterfully done.

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - thanks to the Osprey. Pours mostly clear reddish brown with a frothy, light khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with ample notes of tangy, ripened berries, some toasted malts, a little aged wood, brown bread, toasted caramel. Medium to full bodied with massaging carbonation. Mellow warmth in the finish, further tangy fruit character, semi-dark malts, light salty bite. Tasty, nicely complex.

Bottle at the 'Mere, Happy New Years (Tipples had) Tastang, thanks to Danny 21/01/22. Clear mahogany brown with a decent beige cap that dissipates edgewards. Nose is nutty, tangy fruits, grains, orchard wood, dusty fruits. Taste comprises tangy fruit rinds, toffee, nutty, soured edge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Fine ... not overly complex ... comes over more an oaky sour ... sips easy for 11%.

Tasting at Chez Bois. Thanks to Dan. Clear amber beer, short lived pale tan head. Palate is airy and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, touches of cream and caramel. Mildly tart fruits on the back end. Light finish. Nice contrast between the two elements.
