Cask at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Nose is caramel, dark fruits, citrus. Taste is raisin, dark fruits, citrus, whack of toffee. Long bitter linger.

20/2/2020. Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer & Cider Festival 2020. Pours dark brown with a bubbly off-white to beige head. Aroma of chocolate, hops, pine, malt and fruit. Light to moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body. Slightly soapy finish.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 17th November 2019. Deep brownish copper with pale tan foam and full initial lacing. Malty and spicy aroma with roastiness. Zesty peel and bitter chocolate malts in-mouth with festive spices. A roasty finish with prune and cherry fruits. Full-bodied with an engaging texture. Well crafted and satisfying. 8-4-8-4-16. Re-rating August 2024: Cask at the Hole in the Wall, Brighton on 26th August 2024. Deep reddish brown with loose, tan foam and full lacing. Roasty and zesty in aroma. Harmonious blend of richly roasty in-mouth with zesty citrus peel. A finish of grassiness and roasty malts. Medium bodied with an engaging mouthfeel. Superb. 8-4-8-4-17

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 10 Nov 2018) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with dark chocolate, coffee, citrus and mint. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, citrus, a touch of mint and a dry finish with a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, dry. Fresh and tasty (and of course something black is needed before a Dark Funeral concert later on). Nice one.

Cask at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Deep ruby orange colour lasting beige head. It's a hoppy dark beer. I quite liked it. Full malt. Not too dry. Some dark fruits. OK hops. No burnt roast. Decent. Nice blackcurrant edge.

ABV: 4.8%. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, moderate hoppy, light citrus and pine. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, citrus, pine - wood - woody, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20181019]
