Last can at the Chelsea IGA, pouring a dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights. The head is big, mocha-coloured, long lasting and leaving thick foamy lacing. Roasted barley aromas with some dark fruit notes, hints of chocolate, molasses and coffee. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, not too thick and with a drying finish. Roasted malt flavours that are milder, well-balanced with the alcohol and a tad burnt wood lingering. Some good bitterness from all of those hops. Chunky particles fall to the bottom of the glass near last pour. A real easy-drinking Baltic Porter, will all-blended notes that does the job.

A deep dark porter with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, light coffee notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, light peated notes, herbaceous character, alcohol warmth, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Chocolat noir, noisettes et café sont les principaux éléments d’un olfactif peu puissant. Filet de mousse moka qui se maintient très peu sur un liquide noir et opaque. En bouche, les éléments rôtis dominent et s’accompagnent de notes de noisettes et d’une bonne chaleur d’alcool. Cependant, il y a définitivement présence de notes de poussière et de vieux sous-sol défraichi; signe d’un défaut d’oxydation. L’alcool est également très près du fusel, ce qui n’aide pas son cas. La torréfaction est également très intense et les esters y sont absents. Le corps est bien charpenté et la carbonatation y est juste. Cette bière présente de vilains défauts qui la rend désagréable. J’ose espérer que c’est seulement une mauvaise cannette ou une mauvaise batch. A suivre… O:4.825 V:2.75 G:3.2 C:3.5 G: 7.95 T: 22.225
