Ale forte tourbée élevée en fut de chêne.

First created to celebrate Dieu du Ciel!'s 5th anniversary, this beer is brewed in part with peat moss-smoked malt from England. It was then aged for several months in oak barrels. The palate therefore has a strong alcohol presence complemented by subtle flavors of red fruits, caramel, smoke, maple, vanilla, and oak. Since its production, this beer, which is brewed every five years, has continued to surprise with its ability to age well!

As our Montreal brewery was closed when it was made, this version was brewed in the Quartiers Belle-Gueule facilities with none other than the brewpub's former head brewer and long-time friend: David Meunier!

We thank them warmly for the welcome.

Beautiful balance. The peat-moss smoked malt is the star here.

A lightly hazed reddish copper ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, light grassy hops, treacle, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits and light peated notes, alcohol warmth, light bourbon barrel, pleasant and smooth. On tap at brewery.
