Can from Micro Beer Crate, online. Pours near jet black, moderate sized tanned head Aroma of sweet roasted malts and brown sugar, sour berries and a sprinkle of cacao. Sweet roasted malts, muscovado and coffee come though in the flavour with some blackcurrant fruitiness. Medium bodied, dry finish. Very good stout.

Can from The Made Inn Ashford and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate aroma. Roasted cocoa. Some smoothness to it. Some bourbon? I don't know. Some wood on the aroma. Yes some bourbon and vanilla in the mouth. I shouldn't like this but I do. Dry finish. Yep I quite liked it. A little sweet milk but otherwise ok,

440ml can. Pours jet black with a medium head. Aroma is dusty cocoa and woody blackcurrant hop. Taste has cocoa, blackberry and blackcurrant hop.

Black beer, foamy brown head . Smell is a malty, hoppy mix. Taste matches that, with some fruit and a light, cool mouthfeel. Decent stuff

Keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark brown and only slightly translucent with a thin creamy tan/khaki head. Burned salted caramel, dark malt, cooking chocolate, molasses, earth. Bittersweet taste with the lurking grittiness of the malt asserting in the finish. Coffee grounds, dried grass in the finish. Medium carbonation. This beer starts oit okay and improved throughout. Nice one.
