Der HUMORATOR Doppelbock wurde für über sechs Monate in Penninger's Rum- und Whiskyfässern zu Ende gereift. Gefertigt aus französischer Weißeiche wurde in den Holzfässern über 36 Monate ein Penninger Rum aus nikaraguanischer Melasse bzw über 36 Monate Penninger's Bourbon Whisky gelagert. Im Zuge der Fassreifung fusionieren die Aromen des Bockes zu einer beeindruckenden Gesamtkomposition mit schier undefinierbaren Aromenspielen.

Bottle from the Hacklberg webshop. Had this in the company of Nick and Anna, Leverburgh, Isle of Harris, Wednesday 27th March 2024. Like the whisky cask aged, this pours dark brown with a ruby glint, hardly any head, however this is where the similarities end. I find it almost a bit chemically 'ish', strange but I always find Rum aged stuff hit and miss. I initially gave it 3.4 but on reflection it's a 3.2. The Doppelbock is still there but the rum doesn't quite work.*Had to go back through my notes to find this, couldn't believe that I'd not added before now.

Bottle. Brown clear. Molasse, tobacco. Dry, front heavy, sweet and fizzy, thin.

Bottle, thanks a lot Fin! Darkest brown, low head, brown to dark red shine. Dark smoked, metallic, honey, medium full, dry, iodine, roast, nutty, light molassis, a bit ash finish.

Bottle. Unclear brown color with no head. Aroma is big earthy, rum, dash of veggies. Taste is the same, veggies, iodine. Oily mouthfeel, low carbonation. Pretty meh.
