No fruits. No spices. Just an ideal blend of pale malt, Cascade, and Mosaic hops. A perfect addition to a hot summer's day.

A light-bodied, unfiltered Blonde ale that retains the bold flavors typical of an Ipswich Ale, our Summer Ale is light enough for a hot summer day and can satisfy even the most scorching thirst.

From Sept 2008

I got this bottle in a trade with jwc215. Thanks Joe!

It pours a hazy orange with about an inch of foam. Looks like some good lacing and head retention is above average.

The smell has notes of caramel and some fruitiness, mainly oranges. A nice light but good nose.

The taste is yum. The oranges hit my taste buds first followed by another fruit I can't put my finger on, some caramel sweetness and bread and a rather substantial citrus hop goodness right before and through the finish.

Right at medium bodied, the carbonation is also medium, and man, is this Blonde Ale drinkable. Holy cow!! This is one that I could have easily drank all summer long!

Bottom line: Usually, when I try an American Blonde Ale, I go in without expecting much but this one is a real winner in all categories. Love it!

Tap at Plan B, Springfield, 19/05/13. Clear pale golden with a thin white head. Nose is pale malts, citus, hops, caramel. Taste comprises pale malts, grass, citrus, light hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter notes in the finish. Ok stuff - basic but refreshing.

12 ounce bottle. loudy gold color. Small rocky white head. Light estery malt aroma, a bit sulphery with lemon. Tart salty malt flavor lacks any real fruit or wheat character. Rather boring.

12 oz. bottle got at the local quick stop. Honey yellow. Nose of flowers and natural honey, quite nice. A nice blend of wheat, honey and floral hops. Medium bitterness in the finish. Very simple brew but still has some drinkability. ok.

12 oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and cloudy orange/gold color. Aroma is fruit/citrus, wheat/light malt. Taste is tart citrus-lemon rind/spicy-bitter hops (Amarillo, hallertau), wheat/light malt. A bit weird but nice. Semi dry finish. Some caramel as it warms.

A nice smooth, rather light ale. Had a lot of this during the summer. Definately a good beer. Still has a lot of flavour and some of the good bitter feel. Not really all that wheaty though... tastes more like a standard light ale.

Pours a light, slightly hazy gold into a shaker. Wheat and yeast aromas. White head with excellent staying power. Slightly fizzy balanced flavor upfront which quickly turns to a very long lasting bitter grapefruit finish. Would prefer fewer hops and more wheat.

2002-2004 bottles Pale yellow, with some deeper yellow tinges. Cloudy and pours a nice white head. Faint straw/wheat aroma. Initial flavor is dry and slightly grassy. Some hops, saaz probably, kicks in and there is a little bite of carbonation as well. The beer is balanced well, but lacking in flavor. Very little wheaty taste. Finishes with a medium dry yeasty flavor. Great for a summer day, but there are better summer brews out there. The more of this I drink, the less I like it. Sour wheat flavor that has no purpose. No sweetness. Too astringent and just too light of body.
