2004? Bottle provided by Tiggmtl with MartinT, Muzzlehatch, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, 3/25/05. Pour is a deep blueberry blue with some purple-gold tones. No head, (not that there should be) but it leaves thick legs on the glass (as mead should). Aroma of sweet blueberries, thick honey and a touch of bitter blueberry skins. At 14% abv, this mead masks the alcohol completely. Sweet blueberry flavor, like real blueberry purée with notes of honey, almonds, a touch of earthiness. I guess it’s pretty straightforward blueberry and honey, all told, and despite it being a bit too sweet for me, there are no off flavors at all. Medium body, a bit of syrupiness, but quite fluid and luscious otherwise. Is there really alcohol in this? You certainly can’t taste any.
