Substantial off white head on a near black body. Nose has dark chocolate, berries, and some coffee. Taste profile has the same elements, with notes of cola and cream.

On tap at Avant-Garde, pours a red-tinged deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out that coconut front and centre, with low roast but soft, dry cocoa-y backbone. Flavour is strange, with a touch of tartness, soft coconut, and a little cocoa. This can't exactly be as intended, with that subtle tartness that permeates the palate. Slight infection here?

500ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Chocolately, slightly nutty, dark malty and minimally yeasty-spicy aroma, notes of cocoa, roasted nuts, hazelnut, minimally leafy, waxy, hoppy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish and dry, roasty, chocolately dark malty, notes of cocoa, some milk chocolate, a nuttily touch, minimally waxy and leafy, hoppy overtones; slightly creamy, almost a bit slimy palate, overcarbonated to some degree. Very (if not dangerously) drinkable - hides the imperial abv aspect quite well.
