Humulus Lupus on oikeamielisen humaloinnin ja one man wolfpack -elämäntyylin epäpyhä liitto.
Ameriikan humalakoriin kallellaan oleva olut, jossa on törkeästi käytetty hyväksi lukemattomia humalakasveja.

Maistuu, tuoksuu ja tuntuu.

Bottled at PBF XII. Clear golden, small head. Grapefruity nose with some lychee. Very sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Lychee and saccharine, dusty and fruity. Saccharine and resin in an inky finish. Much too sweet.

On tap at lhus Oslo, pours an opaque bright orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite malty, with lots of caramel malts upfront, followed by resinous hops. Lots of sticky toffee on the flavour, with caramel and more subdued resinous hops. Really malty and sweet, with not enough hops and way too sweet a body. Surprises that this is rated this highly - it's off the mark. Not too good.

Hieman utuinen, kuparinruskea olut ei vaahtoa juurikaan. Pieni valkoinen vaahtoreunus kiertää lasia. Tuoksu varsin karamellinen ja appelsiininen. Vahva maltaisen karamellinen runko nousee maussa esille päällimmäisenä.

Bottle in our somewhat shabby Helsinki apartment. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and finely crisp. Thin but sweet pale malts. Mild caramel and cream. Fair bit of green hop spice here. Minty pine and more hop spice. Mild tropical fruits, quite sweet though. More fiery hop spice. Mild citric peel before a sweet creamy finish. Huge amount of hop spice burns the tongue for long minutes afterwards. Intense and minty piney!

500ml bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Drunk in our hotel in Lapland. Pours hazy brown, minimal head. Taste is malt-lead with marmalade and citrus hop notes. A bit murky and boozy but fine nonetheless.

(Draught at Bryggeri Helsinki, 14 Dec 2015) Amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit, orange marmalade, apricots and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, grapefruit, marmalade, apricots, caramel and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made DIPA with malt to back up the generous hop presence. Very nice.

An orange beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma is strongly caramelly, some tropical fruits and pineapples, hint of pine and marshmellows, simple. Taste is quite sweet, sweetness of caramel, fruits and some pine, the bitterness starts to effect after a while and drying the mouth. Almost full bodied, low carbonation. Overally too sweet that is so usual in this style. More nuancees when warmer, at least in the aroma. Even some criticism, good beer in the glass.
