Hazy dirty amber brown ale with a thin off-white head. Woody cask aroma, with light strawberries, sour lactic acids. In mouth, a flemish sour with strawberries that is missing the mark. Not bad but rather strange. Maybe Schoune made it.

Murky amber in color, with minimal carbonation - aroma quite like an english barleywine (plum, fig, port) with prominent bourbon, strawberry and oak mixed in - kind of tart throughout, with a very heavy woodiness that almost overpowers the rest of the beer - slightly acidic, with very apparent alcohol - tastes kind of like a watered down barleywine with dominant bourbon in the finish - as others have noted, I’m not sure blending in their pale ale was such a good idea - I generally find Cisco beers underrated, but not in this case.

2005 bottle sampled at EBF ’06. Bright strawberry-auburn colored body, very ruddy, with a fair smattering of deep beige-yellow head, quite bubbly and well-retained, lacing prominently as well. The age of the beer thankfully provides relief from the usual mountains of head on Cisco’s beers, but it’s still quite frothy. The nose shows spoiled raspberries and tart strawberries, with a light corn and vanilla scent. Husky, dried hay-like grain notes, a touch of light chocolate and then a muddled note of light coconut from the bourbon. I can definitely see what Probiere means with raw tomato/fresh salsa as it has just a strange, thick yeast, corn and vegetal note and a very unfocused, fruit aroma. You could make a comparison to a watered down version of a bloody mary! The flavor really brings forth the thick yeast, more milled corn grainiess, old vanilla notes, doughy, papery bland dryness, astringent wood notes and perhaps even some glue. The strawberries just add an out of place vegetal quality, with a drying wood, bland yeast, and light acidity all coming together to create something that was best left for the dump bucket. Was not able to drink more than a few sips. Alcohol was under control however. Body was not watery, and had a strong carbonation, texture was fairly lean, but with too much chewy yeast.
