Draft at BEERWORKS No. 1 Fenway in Boston, MA. Clear bronze color with an off-white head. Good lacing. Malty, sweet and smooth with a smoky finish. Everything I like in an Oktoberfest. Really good.

Draft. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread.

Draft Canal St. Location. Orange/ light brown color. Aroma is to the style, satle bread, caramelized malts, dead hops (English hop) Flavor is typical. Caramel sweetness as the base with lager yeast with the light nuance of skunky aftertaste. This is a great style for the transition of the seasons. No problems here except for the thin body.

From tap at the Canal Street location. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild cornish and slight grassy. Caramelish, light grassy bitter and toasted malty. Bitter and caramelish finish. Rather bitter into the far finish.

Draught pint at Canal St with Duff on 8/31/07
Small to medium-sized off-white head is foamy, leaving webby lacing, and receding to cover. Clear, light amber-peach.
Sweet, cookie dough and caramel-like maltiness with some melanoidins giving it some complexity. The fruitiness is the most notable part of the aroma, with little in the way of hops (perhaps some light leafiness/earthiness, but very low bitterness). Seems a little underattenuated, without any real lager yeast crispness (most likely just a cream ale fermentation). Medium strength, some light toastiness and a hint of sourness from the medium malts.
Sugary caramel malt with some bare toastiness giving a bit of balance, but somewhat scratchy at that. Some hardness on the palate, light peach candy (malts) and floral hops sit in the background. The sweetness is a bit too basic and dominating, with little crispness that you’d expect. The hopping rate is to-style, and there are no alcohol notes or flaws, but it just seems a bit too sweet and simple without any interesting yeast character.
