Sampled at the brewery, pours a clear gold, almost no head. Nose has lemon, white wine, a little yeast, some flat soda. Flavor has mild grape, honey, lime, lemon. Spritzy finish. So-so.

Refrigerated 12 oz. dust brown bottle from AirForceHops poured into a glass. Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is dry yeast, light body, low carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is Pilsner malt, yeasty, some citrus, and dry finish. Not my kind of beer.

Bottle stamped 05/28/15 on the label. I purchased at Tully’s in Wells, ME. Lightly hazy gold in color with light lasting head, ample carbonation level. Aroma is very mild, lemons, clove, black pepper or some type of spice.
The flavor is really isn’t much different from the aroma. The body is light (dare I say watery?) the low ABV would tell anybody educated in brewing that it’s not easy to get a ton of flavor in a very low gravity beer. You could call this delicate or low on flavor. Perhaps a touch on the bland side.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Bread and caramel aromas. Dry, sharp and sour with clove upfront turning to sweet clover and heather before the lasting bitter earth finish.

Bottle from Belfast Co-op, bottled 5/28/15, drunk 6/22/15
Hazy burnished golden-copper with a medium-sized white head that recedes slowly.
Lavender, pineapple, light bubble gum and moderately sweet pale malts provide a spicy nose that is somewhat redolent of a saison, though probably a bit sweet and spicy for my liking. No alcohol and no flaws, at least. A bit reserved/muted.
A quick dose of deliciously extracted pils malt pours forth at first and for an instant I’m overjoyed. Richly sumptuous and lightly sweet it makes a strong argument for the beer. Unfortunately, the beer gains a heavy astringency as it progresses with lavender and lilac bitterness and a finish that is supremely watery and bland. At 4.1% abv, I’m not expecting this thing to be rich and bursting with flavor, but it’s just sharply astringent, like a huge mouthful of perfume. Very odd and disappointing with so much promise to the start of it. The texture isn’t even grainy or astringent, so I know it’s not malt driven. Either too much yeast got in to this or they are using some odd spice like lavender. Wish they’d say more about the beer other than Summer Session Saison....Still, all told, not a terrible beer and given its low abv, the only thing that’s really going wrong here is the heavy astringency/blandness, as the wateriness is well within what you’d expect from this light a beer.
