500ml bottle from Micro Beer Crate, online. New brewery for me. Pours black with small beige head, decent retention. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice, blackberries. Taste is sweet, light roastiness, chocolate, some berry tang, spice, moderate bitterness. Medium body, fairly smooth with a soft carbonation. Nice sweet malty olde ale.

Forholdvis pålitelige notater fra en travel dag på The Great British Beer Festival, London 02.08.22: brunsvart, fint skum som varer. Lakridschokolader, vanilje, røykmalt (ikke for påtrengende), granskudd og stikkelsbær. Mersmak.

From cask at GBBF with Holmen1 03.08.22. Dark brown ebony. Persistent pale brown head. Astringent and herbal aroma and taste of raosted barley, cough medicine and liquorice. Low drinkability.

(Bottle) Pours black with small tan head. Aroma has notes of burnt sugar, red berries and metal. Nice mouthfeel - medium body, smooth with good carbonation. Great taste - toffee malt, some burnt sugar bitterness and red berry tartness. Very nice.

500ml bottle direct from the brewers. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, burnt treacle. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, treacle toffee, light pepper spice, smoky, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Sample@GBBF2018, London, with the Malmö crew - pours black with a beige head. Sweet malty with chocolate, some toffee and caramel, medium body, dry dark malty finish.

Gravicask at the 23rd St Albans Beer & Cider Festival. Near black in the glass. Bubbles to the rim of the surface. Dotted spots on the glass. Slightly roasted malty aroma, earthy and mid-sweet. Mixed taste of dark fruits, earth, chocolate and a touch of smoke. Smooth malt-driven ending. Nice. (Shared with Finn 27.09.2018).

ABV: 6.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, brown sugar, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, brown sugar, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180807]
